Arsenal are in talks with Marseille over the sale of Nuno Tavares this month, but the deal is being complicated as Tavares is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest and they are reluctant to let the left-back leave.
Arsenal do not have a recall option included within the season-long loan deal they struck with Forest for Tavares in the summer and are holding discussions with the Midlanders in an attempt to reach some sort of compromise.
Tavares spent last season on loan with Marseille and my understanding is he is very keen on returning to the Ligue 1 side on a permanent basis this month.

But unless an agreement can be reached with Forest before next Wednesday’s transfer deadline, Tavares will have to remain at the City Ground until the end of the campaign.
Meanwhile, as I reported earlier in the week, Thomas Partey has now returned to full training with Arsenal following months out due to groin surgery.
Partey is hoping to be involved when Mikel Arteta’s side travel to Nottingham Forest for their Premier League clash on Tuesday night.
But Arsenal will tread carefully with the midfielder, who has not featured since the 1-0 win against Manchester City on October 8.
