It was an awful night for Arsenal on Thursday as they were beaten 2-0 by West Ham at the Emirates and missed their chance to go back to the top of the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta’s side fired in 30 shots without scoring and were made to pay as goals from Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos earned David Moyes his first ever away success at Arsenal.
It was a frustrating night for Mikel Arteta, who lamented Arsenal’s performance at both ends of the pitch after the full-time whistle. He said:
You look what we’ve done in the game, how much we generated in the game and to see the result is very disappointing, but they were better than us in both boxes. They had two shots, with the penalty, three, we had thirty. I don’t know how many touches in the box, how many situations, how many open goals to score and we haven’t. In football you have to do that better if you want to win, and today we haven’t won because of that and for the rest, the team kept trying and had an incredible attitude again.
In today’s episode of Inside Arsenal I give my thoughts on the 2-0 defeat, discussing the performance and looking at what Arteta had to say afterwards.
I also go over my Arsenal player ratings and show how some of you reacted to the defeat.
